What is energy trading?

Battery storage systems are a key component in stabilizing the electricity grid, particularly in the context of the energy transition. Standalone Trading

Stand-alone battery systems operate independently of a generation plant and draw their electricity directly from the grid. They enable targeted use for applications such as arbitrage, grid services or balancing energy.

Operation is particularly attractive in markets with volatile electricity prices, where economic benefits can be realized through intelligent charging and discharging. Standalone systems offer maximum flexibility in terms of location and operating strategy - without the need for integration into existing energy infrastructures.

A shared location (or co-location) allows battery storage systems to store surplus electricity from renewable energies and release it again when needed, for example at night or when demand is high. 

This reduces the load on the grid connection, minimizes curtailments and increases the economic efficiency of the systems. In addition, storage systems can react flexibly to exchange prices by selling the electricity generated at times of higher demand. Overall, co-location contributes to the integration of renewable energies and the stabilization of the electricity grid.
